Dumpu Chikpa Kapala:

Kapala (Sanskrit word for "Scull") or Scullcup. It is made from human scull and used as ritual implement in the Tibetan tradition. Sacred human skull kapala are used in tantric ritual to hold ceremonial offering.

A skull kapala (or simply kapala) is a ritual cup made from a human skull, traditionally used in Tibetan Buddhism and Hindu Tantric practices. It is often used in Vajrayana Buddhist rituals, particularly in offerings to wrathful deities, dharmapalas (protector deities), and dakinis.

Kapalas symbolize the transformation of ordinary perception into wisdom and the impermanence of life. They are usually filled with offerings such as wine (symbolizing blood), grain, or other substances during rituals.

In Tibetan Buddhist traditions, skull cups are particularly associated with the Chöd practice, where practitioners visualize offering their own body to spirits and deities to cut through attachment and ego. The kapala also appears in iconography, often held by wrathful deities like Mahakala and Vajrayogini.

It is where the ordinary, mundane and confused world is transformed into its essential, pure nature. Beautiful Kapala, nice shape and great color. A rare finding.
