Kapala
KAPALA SKULL CUP
The kapal is a Tibetan word for human skull and is a ritual container for offerings. The kapala holds auspicious substances such as amrita as representative of all the universal qualities. Smaller kapalas also spelled Capala are made of metal and are adorned with a tripod and lid for use by practitioners. For ceremonies, a single capala may be used by the Vajra master; a set of two are used for holding ‘men’ and ‘rakta’ and are accompanied with assigned offering spoons.
