The lords of the five Buddha families are Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, and Amoghasiddhi. They are in essence, the five primordial awareness and duly appear in the form of the body of perfect enjoyment. By purifying all of the consciousness one also purify the five mental affliction and thus the five kinds of primordial awareness gradually reveal themselves.
