Doing the mandala offering is a way of clearing out all these negative states of mind. Here, “mandala” means the universe and everything in it. Practicing the mandala offering purifies the attachment, the stinginess, the miserliness, the clinging mind. Mandala offerings generate great merit for the practitioner to gain spiritual insight and understanding into the teachings and also to gain the ability to see Buddha's and Bodhisattva directly.
